Before purchasing your first telescope, please consider the following:

• Start with a pair of binoculars. This will give you a good starting point for observing.
• Attend a star party before purchasing a telescope. Star parties are are great way to explore different types of telescopes.
• Space.com has a telescope buying guide. You can find it here.
• The San Diego Astronomy Association has a large site on Terra Del Sol with hundreds of telescopes for your viewing pleasure.
• The Ruben H. Fleet Science Center. Check out their web site for more information.
• Night Sky Network hosted by JPL is a great resource.
